EGYPT, Alexandria. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Potin Tetradrachm (25mm, 11.38 g, 12h). Dated RY 4 (AD 240/1). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Nilus reclining left on hippopotamus(?), holding reed and cornucopia; L ∆ (date) in left field. Köln 2647 var. (obv. legend); Dattari (Savio) 4763; K&G 72.90; Emmett 3419.4. Good VF, dark gray-brown surfaces, flan flaw in the center of the reverse.
